BRICKWORKS SAYS
From the outside, this elegant Victorian house in Tottenham, with its painted-brick facade, turret-style roof and a tiled front path, is instantly captivating. And this positive first impression continues inside, with an extensive remodelling that has resulted in a series of well-connected and flowing spaces. The living room with its wood burner leads to an attractive central dining area that links with the kitchen and ends with a breakfast bar and bay-window snug. Each zone is flooded with light.
At the back, the internal space unfolds onto a large, west-facing garden with a patio, lawn and mature planting. It’s a glorious place to relax and unwind. Upstairs, the current owners have continued the carefully considered palette with flashes of colour and pattern in each of the three double bedrooms and the family-sized bathroom.
Woodside Gardens occupies a position in the heart of Tottenham, with an impressive (and growing) collection of local pubs, restaurants and shops nearby. Local parks include Lordship Recreation Ground and Downhills, while Tottenham Marshes are only a short bike ride away. If you need to get further afield, reaching central London is straightforward with various transport options, including Bruce Grove station, which is moments away and offers a direct link to Liverpool Street station.

THE OWNER SAYS
We’ve loved living here for the past seven years. The area has changed so much (for the better) and there’s always something to do. There’s so much more green space than you’d think with the marshes and three local parks nearby and it’s just so quick and easy to get everywhere with the overground less than a five-minute walk away, getting you into Hackney and the city, and Seven Sisters just 15 mins on foot for central London.
We adore our son’s nursery – Dorset Hall Parkside – and spend much of our time at our local coffee shop With Milk, True Craft for pizza, The Palm pub and Sushi Heads for the best sushi around. Bruce Grove is also handy with many shops and great pubs like The Bluecoats, The Beehive and The High Cross. Tottenham Hale is also a short walk away and there’s a lot changing there. The area feels really exciting at the minute – we can’t wait to see what the new public toilet coffee shop on Bruce Grove will be like!
We’ve completely renovated the house making it into a lovely and open family home, and because it’s on the corner, we have a really good size garden – compared to the surrounding houses – which has been host to many parties and barbecues! There’s sunshine around the house and garden almost all day, and we think the loft could make an incredible third floor.

landmarks
1 The Beehive
Inside, this “community pub” has all the usual diversions—pool table, board games, darts. But the huge covered beer garden is the real draw. Open all year round, it’s as buzzy as the pub’s name implies.
2 Cinnamon Leaf Food Hall
Family-owned by siblings Kiera and Lewis (and some others), Cinnamon Leaf Food Hall is on a mission to promote healthy eating and sustainable living, with a focus on Afro-Caribbean cuisine and culture. It opened in 2020—right in the middle of the COVID–19 pandemic—and is going from strength to strength.
3 With Milk
Run by two sisters, this sweet independent coffee shop & deli on nearby Philip Lane packs a punch serving amazing coffee roasted by Perky Blenders in local Leytonstone. With a changing menu of sandwiches, sweet treats and blooming excellent croissants that always hit the spot, the ladies also offer gluten-free options, a range of halal meats and wonderful cheeses.
4 Luna D’Amore
Say hello to your new local, and very tasty, woodfired pizza takeaway. This lot aren’t afraid to break the boundaries of pizza-making with regularly changing specials, but purists will be satisfied with the freshness and delicious dough.
5 The Bluecoats
“The big pub on the high road serving wicked food, showing the football and providing general good vibes,” this cosy indie boozer serves up Time Out’s best burgers in London. It also has a heated garden, regular pop-up nights (Taco Tuesdays! Wing Wednesdays!) and too many beers and ciders to count.
