This endlessly appealing two-double-bedroom garden maisonette, occupying the ground floor of a handsome Edwardian terrace, is within striking distance of some of North London's most coveted dining spots and green spaces.

Vartry Road, Stamford Hill, 2 Bed. Maisonette

It sounds like a cliché, but we really did fall in love with this maisonette the moment we walked through the door. It's bright and airy and has lots of character, with its kitchen arch, high ceilings and Edwardian features, and the layout works really well. We've loved spending time in the sunny south-facing garden, which is perfect for dinners with friends and has been a blessing over the pandemic, and we couldn't have asked for friendlier neighbours.

We've also really appreciated being within walking distance of so many wonderful green spaces, including Clissold and Springfield parks, and all the shops, pubs and restaurants in Stoke Newington, South Tottenham and Green Lanes—plus we're just round the corner from the beautiful Woodberry Wetlands, with its café's delicious toasties and coffee. The transport links are fantastic, with the Victoria, Piccadilly and Overground lines all within a 10-15 minute walk, making the commute into central London quick and easy.

We can only hope whoever buys our maisonette will be as happy here as we've been!

With its clean lines and neutral palette, this maisonette in Stamford Hill has an understated beauty that makes it both elegant and supremely functional.

Built in 1901, on the cusp of the Edwardian era, the property has plenty of pleasing original features, including painted floorboards and a delightful, curved arch in the entrance hall. With its bay window, the front reception room looks onto leafy Vartry Road, while the two bedrooms peer onto a private south-facing garden. Each room feels light, fresh and uncluttered.

N16's best bars and restaurants are within easy reach, including those along Stoke Newington Church Street, and there is plenty to keep you busy whether you are seeking a relaxed brunch or a late night. The area's diverse communities open up a world of enticing eating options, including top-notch Turkish on Green Lanes. Speaking of greenery, open spaces on your doorstep include Woodberry Wetlands and Finsbury Park, with Clissold Park only a little further and still within comfortable walking distance.

Explore North London

1 Woodberry Wetlands

Next to the reservoir. A haven for wildlife and people, and with a lovely cafe overlooking the ponds.

2 The West Reservoir

Lush outdoor swimming spot, in the summer it even warms up enough for fair-weather swimmers.

3 Pasero

Newly opened café and restaurant with good coffee, wine and happy hour-negronis.

4 True Craft

In this crazily-good pizza joint on the West Green Road, local craft beers (like Beavertown) sit happily next to quality imports (think Weizen-style Bavarian), giving you all kinds of problems when it comes to ordering. One of the most favourite spots in South Tottenham, and rightly so, you can also 'takeaway' if you fancy.

5 Café Lemon

A little ray of sunshine, this chilled-out café caters for every taste with an eclectic menu. Run by a friendly bunch, it has a dedicated following of locals, as the polaroids of regulars can attest!
