Backing onto a small park, this three-bedroom Edwardian maisonette sits on a quiet road in South Tottenham and charms with a warm, inviting interior and a garden bursting with possibilities.
Richmond Road, South Tottenham, 3 Bed. Maisonette
This two-storey maisonette combines the best of both worlds: top-floor peace and quiet with the benefit of a private garden. You also get the added perk of your own front door. With three bedrooms to play with, a large reception room and a kitchen with room for dining, there’s much to love and plenty of space to be creative.
Colour has been used to great effect. Take the west-facing living room, painted in a gorgeous burnt orange to complement the warm evening sun, or the nursery, which combines zingy mint green and blue. Meanwhile, the simple, crisp white walls in the principal bedroom help reflect natural light and let the views over the park behind do the talking. Outside, the courtyard garden, surrounded by planters and mature trees, offers a spot for a morning coffee or a summer sundowner.
Slap bang in the middle of Finsbury Park, Woodberry Wetlands and the Walthamstow and Tottenham Marshes, Richmond Road - despite its urban setting - is spoilt for choice when it comes to green space. From wild swimming in the West Reservoir to canal-side walks along the River Lea, there are plenty of ways to get your exercise fix. And as a reward? Grab an end-of-day beer at the New River Studios bar and workspace, or try Moko, a pioneering music bar and restaurant.
THE OWNERS SAY
This has been such a happy home for us. Richmond Road itself is very quiet and peaceful, especially at night. There are lots of families and it's super friendly. Behind our home is a lovely park with a great playground for kids. Plus, there's a fantastic nursery in the park. 5-a-day is an organic fruit and veg shop, a three-minute walk from the house and an Aladdin's cave of delicious dinner treats.
We love this area as there's so much to do; nearby green space includes a beautiful walk along New River, taking you all the way to Finsbury Park. North of Richmond Road are some great restaurants along West Green Road. Pasero is an Italian-inspired restaurant, crowd-funded by local foodies, while True Craft has a fantastic collection of beer and some of the best pizza in London. Also, there's The Palm, which does a smashing roast on Sundays, Chukus for mind-blowing Nigerian tapas and Kinome for very authentic sushi.

Next to the reservoir. A haven for wildlife and people, and with a lovely cafe overlooking the ponds.
In this crazily-good pizza joint on the West Green Road, local craft beers (like Beavertown) sit happily next to quality imports (think Weizen-style Bavarian), giving you all kinds of problems when it comes to ordering. One of the most favourite spots in South Tottenham, and rightly so, you can also 'takeaway' if you fancy.
Newly opened café and restaurant with good coffee, wine and happy hour-negronis.
A little ray of sunshine, this chilled-out café caters for every taste with an eclectic menu. Run by a friendly bunch, it has a dedicated following of locals, as the polaroids of regulars can attest!
Lush outdoor swimming spot, in the summer it even warms up enough for fair-weather swimmers.
