THE OWNER SAYS

We’ve loved living here and have invested a lot in improving the space. We did a complete cosmetic refit; the property now doesn’t look anything like it did when we first moved in. The kitchen and garden together make up our favourite spaces. We designed the kitchen so that we could cook and wash up while facing the dining table and garden, which is great for dinners with family and friends, as well as watching the kids play outside. Over the years, we’ve loved layering more plants and trees, so there’s always something interesting to look at, which has also made the garden look bigger.

The area’s fantastic. It’s the perfect balance of the green spaces of Springfield Park and Hackney Marshes and everything that’s great about living in inner London – community, bustle, good food and coffee. It’s been an ideal location to take us from first time buyers through having a couple of kids now in an amazing local school and nursery.

BRICKWORKS SAYS

A home created for living, this superb maisonette has all the elements that make it impossible not to love. Having undergone a complete transformation, it combines style with function. The bright and colourful kitchen diner will spark joy, designed for those who love to entertain. We particularly like the free flow to the eye-pleasing garden, which makes summer parties an inevitability. The comfortable living room has an ambience that invites you to take it easy, with plantation shutters creating a cosy nook when you want to shut out the rest of the world.

The three double bedrooms give options to use the space interchangeably, complete with nifty storage to keep things tidy. The contemporary bathroom is a monochrome dream, as is the shower room downstairs. Outside is our favourite spot, the garden studio. It’s a getaway on your doorstep, a space to work or play in peace, overlooking the maturing evergreen garden.

Perfectly positioned to access all Upper Clapton has to offer, as well as being in easy striking distance of Stoke Newington, this home is set up to enjoy urban living. Not only is there an abundance of good quality pubs a stone’s throw away, but also stacks of mouth-watering eateries, plus street food at Chatsworth market at the weekend. And when you need to burn off all that deliciousness, head to Hackney Downs or Leyton Marshes for a fix of fresh air.
