THE LEGAL BIT

While we strive to create true-to-life photographs, floor plans and descriptions, our marketing material is only a guide. Purchasers should always visit in person, ask relevant questions and triple-check details. Brickworks takes our duty of care incredibly seriously and takes all reasonable steps to ensure all presented information is correct. However, we sometimes rely on the accuracy of the information provided to us by the seller and others. Also, please note that we often round up/down total floor plan measurements and/or use approximate distances.

BRICKWORKS SAYS

This one-bedroom flat is set within a contemporary development in Lower Clapton, Hackney, designed by Fraser Brown Mackenna. Completed in 2007, the block stands out for its rich red-painted render and, come spring, the jungle-like greenery that cascades down, adorning the concrete and metal. The building's exterior walkways connect you to your neighbours and draw in the ambience from the surrounding area.

Modern yet homely, natural light floods the internal spaces, especially in the evenings, thanks to the windows on its east and west sides. We particularly like that the living room and the bedroom both have access to the balcony, which spans the width of the flat. It's a spot to watch the world go by with a sundowner.

Antony House is located in the heart of Hackney, so the borough's highlights couldn't be easier to reach. Clapton's restaurants, bars and pubs are a cheeky weeknight wander away, while weekends can be spent along Chatsworth Road checking out the regular market or at its independent cinema. Broadway Market is only a short walk, offering delicious food stalls, and Columbia Road is nearby too––your new Sunday fix for blooms and stems.

THE OWNERS SAY

The location of Antony House is pretty hard to beat - you're right in the centre of everything Hackney has to offer; pubs, bars, cafés, restaurants, world-class music venues, independent shops, parks, the marshes, the canals, the lido... The list goes on! And then you have the luxury of returning to a peaceful home in a friendly little block.

The apartment is surprisingly spacious, with loads of storage and plenty of room for a dining table and –– in my case –– a piano. It’s also really well-soundproofed and well-insulated, so it's super comfortable. I love having balcony access from both the lounge and the bedroom and flinging the doors open as the afternoon sun pours in.

1 Paper Dress Vintage

There’s much more to this boutique than first meets the eye. Pick up some exquisite vintage garms and then come back later to strut your stuff on the dancefloor as it transforms into a popular late-night venue.

2 Borough Wines

Not your average wine specialist. Famed for its great collection of all things grape-based, they also host brilliant events at their (increasing) number of London shops, including masterclasses in making cocktails and pop up dining experiences.

3 Uchi

If you haven’t discovered this Japanese gem, it’s worth seeking it out. Deliciously fresh and beautifully simple, we haven’t found anything yet on the menu that disappoints. And don’t leave without trying the sesame ice cream!

4 Hackney Empire

This beautiful Victorian theatre stages diverse productions including the best of British drama, opera and ballet and interactive live shows for little ones.

5 Violet

A gorgeous, small bakery established by food writer and stylist Claire Ptak began as a market stall on Broadway Market. All ingredients are organic and all the results of said ingredients combined, are delicious!
