THE OWNERS SAY

We moved to this house when our oldest child was eight weeks old and instantly fell in love with it. To be honest, we thought we were buying a home with good transport links and in a place we could afford, but we didn't think we would find our tribe. But Tottenham surprised us in so many ways! We have also enjoyed getting to know our friendly neighbours, down-to-earth local business owners and a buzzing social scene.

The house has been a real gem –– peaceful, fun and full of good memories –– it will always be a place we think of very fondly. Don't get us started, or we'll back out of selling it!

BRICKWORKS SAYS

Earthy plaster tones feel like a warm embrace as you step into this charming terraced house, packed with period features and handsome details. The open-plan nature of the ground floor completely transforms a run-of-the-mill (and often dark) Victorian home into something modern and bright.

The front living space is kept cosy with an impressive stone fireplace, stripped floorboards and sash windows, while the spacious dining room flows effortlessly into the kitchen, which has been given an industrial edge with bare brick walls, blue cabinetry and chrome mod-cons. The bi-fold doors at the rear open up to reveal the sun-trap garden beyond.

There are two double bedrooms on the first floor, plus a roomy bathroom with a separate bath and shower. Take the stairs up to the loft, and you'll discover the largest bedroom, as well as an office space and ensuite shower. This house packs a lot in, and it's finished beautifully, from the windows and walls right down to the elegant door handles; no corner's been forgotten.

Oulton Road is neatly placed for some of Tottenham's best spots to eat and drink along West Green Road, but you are also within touching distance of Harringay Green Lanes and Stoke Newington. You also have access to some of the best transport links in North London, including the speedy Victoria Line from Seven Sisters, reachable in under 10 minutes on foot.

1 Café Lemon

A little ray of sunshine, this chilled-out café caters for every taste with an eclectic menu. Run by a friendly bunch, it has a dedicated following of locals, as the polaroids of regulars can attest!

2 Pasero

Newly opened café and restaurant with good coffee, wine and happy hour-negronis.

3 True Craft

In this crazily-good pizza joint on the West Green Road, local craft beers (like Beavertown) sit happily next to quality imports (think Weizen-style Bavarian), giving you all kinds of problems when it comes to ordering. One of the most favourite spots in South Tottenham, and rightly so, you can also 'takeaway' if you fancy.

4 Yard Sale Pizza

Mouth-watering Yard Sale Pizza has made its way to Tottenham. Grab a few pizzas with friends and enjoy al fresco across the road in Downhills Park.

5 The Palm

This is everything a local pub should be: craft beers/ales on tap, delicious food and bar snacks, and–to top it off–a brilliant team that runs it. Whenever we just “pop” in, we can’t help but stay for hours. Plus, we can assure you their Sunday Roast is pretty much perfect.
