THE OWNER SAYS
We’ve really enjoyed raising our young family here, and we’ll be sad to say goodbye. We love the light that comes through the house, making it feel bright and spacious — we often have the sliding doors open all day which creates a natural flow into the garden.
The main bedroom and ensuite feel like a little bit of luxury after a long day, and the guest bedroom is a great WFH area. It’s also a very friendly neighbourhood with a community feel, excellent restaurants in Crouch End, and multiple parks within walking distance.

Recent work:
The current owners have refurbished throughout. Some of the highlights include installing re-engineered oak parquet flooring downstairs. In the kitchen, they added a new casement window for extra light, replaced an old sash window and added sliding doors that open out onto the garden. The kitchen is Harvey Jones. They’ve also added cupboards under the stairs and storage. New cast iron radiators and oak carpentry were added throughout, and new stair carpets were laid in the middle and upper part of the house. A new family bathroom was installed, the ensuite bathroom was replaced in the primary bedroom and the guest bathroom (as well as the hallway) was retiled.
Outside, the garden has been landscaped. Retaining walls rebuilt, fences replaced and sandstone tiles fitted. In the middle section, they’ve built raised beds and added astroturf. Sandstone tiles were also laid at front of the house.
The owners have also redone the electrics and replaced the boiler.
Onward plans:
The owners are moving to New Zealand, so the house is sold chain-free.
BRICKWORKS SAYS
This is a dream home to raise a family, combining Victorian charm and made-for-real-life convenience. Tastefully decorated and fully refurbished, it’s ready for you to move in and relax from day one.
From the pretty front steps and original door, it’s full of character-bringing Victorian features, like coving, ceiling roses and fireplaces. The owners have added further charm with new cast iron radiators, a modern tiled hallway and parquet floor through the kitchen-diner and double living room.
It isn’t just a pretty face, either. It’s also highly functional, with beautiful flow-through from the living room to kitchen-diner to outside. There’s oodles of storage, so everything you need is easily accessible but neatly tucked away. The owners have redone the electrics too, so there’s a socket everywhere you might need one.
Downstairs feels light, bright and sociable – great for having people over or for fun family hangouts. The kitchen has all new appliances, tons of storage, and a handy laundry cupboard. There’s a big, sociable island and southerly light coming in from the sliding doors and side window.
Upstairs the vibe switches to calm and comfortable with carpet underfoot and warm grey walls. Plus there’s a newly done bathroom that’s as suited to kids’ bathtime as it is to cracking out the candles for that spa-at-home feel. Carrying on up, there’s the luxurious – and big! – principal bedroom with hotel-worthy ensuite plus Juliet balcony.
Back downstairs and the garden has a patio off the kitchen that works like an outside dining room and BBQ area. Up the garden steps, you’ll find a large lawn with prettily planted raised beds –– perfect for entertaining, catching rays or playtime. Plus, there’s a good-sized shed to store all your bits.

1 Beans & Barley
It began as a health food shop with a cafe as a sideshow, but the latter became so popular it grew and took over. Now, with an added a soft play area with kids’ toys and an expanded menu, it’s a huge hit with parents seeking solace in coffee and cake.
2 Harringay Local Store
Easily one of the best local places to get quality, organic produce and all sorts of other delicious or practical home produce. And you get to take it home in their own tote, which reads: “Not Another Tescos.” A sentiment we can all get behind.
3 The Salisbury
The grand establishment that is The Salisbury harks back to the days when the area was rather well-to-do. It’s both a relief and a delight that despite various refurbishments over the years, no one has gone and done anything silly like ripping out the original Victorian saloon bar and décor. A wonderful pub. And even more special when you can call it your ‘local’.
4 The Dusty Knuckle
Their second location shares more of the good stuff: a bakery/café by day and a pizza and wine spot by night. The Dusty Knuckle is a purpose-driven business that helps at-risk young people take forward steps in their lives through on-the-job training and mentorship. Insanely popular and utterly delicious, there isn't anything about his place we don't like.
5 But First Coffee
This little café is a real local favourite. Its delicious pastries and award-winning Ozone coffee get almost as much love as its friendly service. But First Coffee is just around the corner from Harringay station, so you can get to know your new neighbours by making it part of your morning routine.
