Tucked down a pretty lane in South Tottenham is this warm and welcoming two (& a half) bedroom flat. Set out on the upper two floors of a classic Victorian conversion, the home is roomy, bright and well-positioned for easy commutes, neighbourhood delights and green spaces alike.

Positioned evenly between the transport hub at Seven Sisters and two local parks, Dongola Road is an excellent spot. It forms part of a community that is enjoying something of a renaissance, with foodie-friendly pubs and restaurants popping up all over.

BRICKWORKS SAYS

Perched above the street, the flat is one of those spaces that feels homely from the moment you step inside. The hearth-like kitchen, the exposed brick nooks, the beautifully worn floorboard: it’s full of inviting touches that exude character and calm. The layout is ideal too, with a vast, sunlit living room at the front, and bedrooms at the back and in the loft; meaning they can be quiet and restful refuges.

The location is great too. A short stroll puts you at the edge of Downhills Park and Lordship Recreation Ground, whose community hub is a favourite with families. There's no shortage of food and fun, either, with new restaurants and pubs sitting happily next to tried-and-true family-run establishments along Philip Lane and West Green Road. And with Seven Sisters tube on the Victoria Line, you can be at Kings Cross in less than 30 minutes.

THE OWNER SAYS

Dongola Road is one the nicest in the area, and we miss living there—so much so that we moved only a few roads away! The flat is close to two lovely green spaces which are great for kids and walks, and the Lordship Hub has yoga sessions, a variety of baby and toddler classes and more.

The Palm pub has just opened up around the corner, and it promises great pub food and plenty of delicious craft beer. Other personal favourites include True Craft by Seven Sisters – which serves up amazing sourdough pizzas – and Sushi Heads just down the road. It sells genuine and delicious Japanese sushi and ramen.

This is everything a local pub should be: craft beers/ales on tap, delicious food and bar snacks, and–to top it off–a brilliant team that runs it. Whenever we just “pop” in, we can’t help but stay for hours. Plus, we can assure you their Sunday Roast is pretty much perfect.

5 Ten to One

We jumped for joy when this cocktail bar and restaurant opened in an ex-betting shop. A Whiskey Sour in hand while watching live music and feasting on Nashville chicken wings has become a Friday tradition for many. And why not?
