BRICKWORKS SAYS

On the second floor of a Victorian building dating back to 1904, this charming apartment has all the notes of high Victorian architecture as well as pattern, texture and modern flair.

Internally, the layout is conducive to a variety of needs, whether configured as a luxurious one-bed or practical two-bed. The stand alone reception room provides ample space for entertaining, whether relaxing with family or hanging out with friends. And with an attic and shared basement, there's plenty of storage space above and below. Outside, the gorgeous communal garden is beautifully-maintained and great for mini-beasts (children and animals) to run around.

Anson Road is in a leafy pocket between Tufnell Park, Holloway and Brecknock Roads. The location means you are in a tranquil spot amid the hustle and bustle of the city all around you, and with Hampstead Heath within walking distance, you have access to one of London's true green wildernesses. For more everyday considerations, Fortess Road is nearby, offering an array of eateries and independent stores. While only a little further, Holloway Road has a growing number of excellent shops and cafes, including Providence and Spoke.

THE OWNERS SAY

We're sad to leave our beautiful flat, but a growing family means we need more space for the future.

There's no shortage of things to do nearby and we've spent many weekends on Hampstead Heath or just wandering around the cafés and bakeries in the area - usually ending up in the Tufnell Park Tavern for a rest!

The building has everything we've needed over the years: a huge garden for the children and an attic and basement for storage; plus the other residents in the building are kind, friendly and always willing to lend a hand.

We adore this flat and the surrounding area and we are hoping to pass it on to someone who can find the happiness that we've had here for many years to come.

Anything else:
Mansion blocks are less common than period conversions, but they have some notable advantages. Foremost, the layout has been expressly designed and not carved out of an existing property, the latter of which can result in ill-conceived configurations. You also get better sound insulation (above and below) as the floors were originally created to divide individual dwellings. Lastly, in this case, you get wonderful natural light as you are up on the second floor.
