Refurbished with love and warmth by the current owners, this pretty three-bed Victorian half house, has a crisp, white decor and original detailing throughout.
A fantastic loft conversion includes a shower room and home-office space under the eaves. There's also a larger-than-average family bathroom, bright open-plan living/dining area, sweet south-facing garden and bespoke (handmade) storage a-plenty. This house is a lovely and hugely practical family home.
Located on a quiet street in a much-coveted spot right by Chestnuts Primary School (you couldn’t be much closer) this area of South Tottenham keeps growing in popularity. And being a hop and a skip from the buzzing hub of Green Lanes makes it even better.
Conway Road, Tottenham, 3 Bed. House
This has to be near-perfect first home for a couple or young family. Everything you could reasonably wish for is here, and it's all in tip-top condition – you can move straight in without needing to change a thing.
We are particularly taken with the large family bathroom. Often they are tiny in these types of properties, so it's unusual to have so much space. And the design is elegant: broad, brick tiles and dark painted walls make it a practical space, as well as a little slice of luxury. But this is just one example – similar attention to detail is evident throughout; on every floor and in every room.
THE OWNER SAYS
We absolutely love our home and are very sad to leave. It’s a charming house with direct sunlight that comes into the dining room and kitchen. Having an open living space makes it bright at virtually any time of the day.
The neighbourhood is lovely and quiet and has a strong community spirit. The Salisbury, our local pub, is what clinched our decision to buy the house, and we will certainly miss the rest of vibrant Green Lanes too. It is so rare to have a mainly independent high street.
We put a lot of effort into the joinery and bespoke storage, including adapting the shed with internal shelves using reclaimed timber to maximise storage and building a wild flower green roof. It’s wonderful to watch the various plants and flowers emerge throughout spring and summer. We got really excited when a bumble bee first visited the wild flowers growing there! Plus our cat loves the spot for a touch of sunbathing. We installed outdoor power and garden lights to make the garden a perfect spot for dining outside on summer evenings.

Part of the London Borough of Haringey, the property falls within Council Tax Band C (£1,400.72 for 2017/18)
The concept of a half-house is not widely known, but they are popular in these parts and, we think, a brilliant idea from Victorian yesteryear. You share a front door and hallway with your neighbour (left or right), but once you enter your side, the layout is very similar to a traditional Victorian terraced home. Aside from the hallway and shared building insurance, you have total autonomy.
The house comes with a share (50pc) of the freehold. There is no service charge and a peppercorn ground rent. When communal works are required, the costs are agreed with the owners at 46R and paid on a per item basis. The owners next door live at the property.
Transport-wise you are spoilt for choice. The nearest tube is Turnpike Lane (Piccadilly Line Zone 3) and the Victoria Line is easily accessed from Seven Sisters to cut rapidly across London. You have numerous other options, including the overground at Harringay Green Lanes, which runs east to west across London. Alternatively, the line from Harringay overground station whisks you into Kings Cross or Moorgate via Finsbury Park. Local bus routes are direct to Dalston and Waterloo, and buses from Green Lanes are diverse serving all nearby neighbourhoods. Crossrail 2 at Turnpike lane is coming soon too.

Fuelling our coffee addiction since the day it opened, Perkyn's is one of the best for a coffee hit. A bottle shop, too, fridges filled with beautifully designed craft beers and wine that makes any occasion feel like a real treat.
Mouth-watering Yard Sale Pizza has made its way to Tottenham. Grab a few pizzas with friends and enjoy al fresco across the road in Downhills Park.
The grand establishment that is The Salisbury harks back to the days when the area was rather well-to-do. It’s both a relief and a delight that despite various refurbishments over the years, no one has gone and done anything silly like ripping out the original Victorian saloon bar and décor. A wonderful pub. And even more special when you can call it your ‘local’.
Easily one of the best local places to get quality, organic produce and all sorts of other delicious or practical home produce. And you get to take it home in their own tote, which reads: “Not Another Tescos.” A sentiment we can all get behind.
It began as a health food shop with a cafe as a sideshow, but the latter became so popular it grew and took over. Now, with an added a soft play area with kids’ toys and an expanded menu, it’s a huge hit with parents seeking solace in coffee and cake.
