BRICKWORKS SAYS

Thoughtfully designed in every way, this one-bedroom flat instantly makes you feel at home. As you enter through a private front door, you’re met with ornate floor tiles –– just one example of the detailing on show –– leading your eye to the kitchen at the back of the property. Wherever you look, the current owners have given care and attention, from sanding back the original floorboards to adding handy alcove shelving in the living room.

The bathroom and kitchen have had complete makeovers. The square tiling is a neat visual link between the two spaces, and when combined with the beautiful hues, they have been transformed into fresh, functional and stylish rooms. Outside you’ll find a sun-filled garden that overflows with green, and to the side is a versatile space that can be used for soaking up the sun or parking your wheels.

Clyde Circus is well-placed to enjoy everything that Tottenham has to offer. You don’t have to go far. Nearby, Seven Sisters brims with cafés, restaurants and pubs. It’s an area with a strong community and good facilities – just round the corner is a local swimming pool and the Bernie Grant Arts Centre, who was the local MP for many years. And when you want a welcome escape from the hubbub of city life, green spaces like Downhills Park and Lordship Recreation Ground await.

THE OWNERS SAY

We’ve absolutely loved living in this flat in a very special part of Tottenham. In summer, the garden is a calm, cool retreat within the atmosphere of the Clyde Circus circle. We love relaxing with a drink in the evenings, enjoying the birdsong and appreciating the sun in the mornings. The additional side space works well as an overflow area for barbecuing and is the perfect spot for a herb garden.

We’ve enjoyed carefully improving the flat to maximise storage potential. The front room is a perfect sun trap with the kitchen and bedroom looking into the garden.

Locally, we’re between two fantastic pubs, True Craft and The Palm, with many fantastic neighbourhood cafés nearby, such as local deli and restaurant Pasero, Chuku’s, With Milk, Perkyn’s and Yard Sale Pizza.

We’ve enjoyed meeting and getting to know our neighbours. We are moving out of London, but it will be difficult to leave a flat and neighbourhood that we’ve grown to love so much.

Say hello to your new local, and very tasty, woodfired pizza takeaway. This lot aren’t afraid to break the boundaries of pizza-making with regularly changing specials, but purists will be satisfied with the freshness and delicious dough.

4 Bernie Grant Arts Centre

The eponymous Bernie Grant Arts Centre, founded by the Tottenham Labour MP during the 90s, was designed by David Adjaye and was built to showcase the best of independent and international arts with a focus on culturally diverse practice. There is a fantastic arthouse cinema, dance and theatre auditorium and cafe/bar/shop. All well worth a visit in our opinion.
