THE OWNERS SAY
When I first viewed the flat, I instantly fell in love with how light it is and how high the ceilings are. The communal garden is lovely all year round. I am basically the only one who ever uses it, except my downstairs neighbour mows the lawn, which is very kind! It's almost like having a private garden – very peaceful and quiet.
I have lived in Mile End/Bow area for about nine years. I love how convenient the transport is – this flat is perfect as you have four lines nearby. I also love Tower Hamlets Cemetery park nearby, it's like having a patch of natural wilderness, and is full of wildflowers in the spring and a Movie/Music/Comedy festival in the summer. I walk my dog there regularly.

Up a cobbled lane in a former convent building you’ll find Carmelite Cafe where you can enjoy delicious brunches and lunches served up by welcoming staff.
2 The Shuffle Festival - Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park
This festival has been going for 4 years now and is becoming increasingly popular. It takes place at the end August over a weekend in this amazing historical cemetery and nature reserve. The festival hosts a celebration of local community & culture with a programme bursting with creativity from music, to outdoor film, to talks and walks, with architectural installations and lots of great food.
3 The Coffee Room
Just around the corner from Mile End Station, this very sweet little coffee shop is tiny inside but has a very cosy, heated outside courtyard thats very popular. Serving a very decent Climpson’s coffee, a great selection of yummy sandwiches(they even have sour dough bread) and seriously good cakes. The staff are always super friendly and welcoming.
4 Muxima
This coffee house doubles up as an independent Art & Culture space, and the mix works perfectly – managing to be cosy and chilled while also being engaging and interesting. In the evening, with a licence and DJs, the vibe switches up to become a great spot to hang out pre-club.
5 The Palm Tree
A proper east end boozer, The Palm Tree pub is a much-loved gem set in the middle of Mile End Park next to the canal. With original trippy carpets, boxing memorabilia, walls plastered with pictures of celebrities gone by and an original old cash register, this cockney outpost is treasured for its 'knees-up' jazz nights which can often get lairy since there are no neighbours to consider.
