We instantly fell in love with this flat and its ceiling height, period features and glorious sash windows. The best thing is being able to use the space flexibly, living open plan during the day and closing off the bedroom to keep things cosy at night.
We’ve spent summers growing vegetables in the garden and enjoying weekend barbecues with friends. In the winter, there’s nothing better than getting a beef rib from the butcher, a bottle of wine from Borough Wines and lighting a fire.
Saturday morning brunch at The Good Egg has become a weekly ritual, before browsing the local shops, walking through Abney Park Cemetery and grabbing a coffee in Clissold Park. The restaurant scene has exploded since we moved here, and we find ourselves eating out a couple of times a week.

As you enter, stools around a bar look over the open kitchen with chefs preparing oysters and scallops. At the back, a relaxed but stylish restaurant serves wonderfully modern Spanish dishes. Encantamous!
This place is bread heaven! All baked on the premises, the vibe is stripped back simplicity – it’s a great pitstop for coffee and cake while you pick up your morning loaf. Arrive early though to avoid disappointment; they do tend to sell out of the favourites (the seeded rye is ours) by the afternoon.
