Barrington Road, Crouch End, 5 Bed. House
THE OWNER SAYS
We have lived in this home for 15 years and have absolutely loved it. Backing onto the park is amazing for children, getting them off screens, out of the house and into the green.
Everything you need, including the beautiful, historic Queens Wood, is within walking distance. It is a fantastic place to bring up children. The street residents are friendly and supportive. It is full of families.
Plus, you have three high streets! Crouch End, Muswell Hill and Hornsey all have their own personality and highlights, so you never run out of new cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops to explore.

A special mention to the kitchen. With handmade wooden cabinets, granite worktop, underfloor heating, and all Neff appliances (including two ovens – one with steam function – an induction hob, a large fridge and freezer, microwave & dishwasher), it’s a cook’s dream.

This beautiful home, dating from 1911, is found on a peaceful street and is brilliantly positioned between Crouch End and Muswell Hill, two of north London’s most-loved neighbourhoods.
Well considered decor throughout its three floors means the property retains a refined feel, with gentle reminders of its Edwardian heritage. For example, the stained glass front door and delicate staircase balustrade make for a graceful entrance, and the large bay window floods the living room with light. At the back of the house, the eat-in kitchen leads to a secluded garden with a patio large enough to entertain. There is also a greenhouse, playhouse and two sheds for more practical needs.
Back inside, on the upper floors, there are four double bedrooms, two studies, a family bathroom and a separate shower room. Overall, the mixture of neutral tones and the odd splash of colour create a sophisticated yet functional family home.
Barrington Road straddles Crouch End, Hornsey and Muswell Hill, putting it within easy reach of the cafes, shops and restaurants of all three, while Highgate is also a short stroll away. There are plenty of wide-open spaces nearby, while overground and tube services are within walking distance.
Explore North London
We love this vibrant tapas bar in Crouch End for a flavour of contemporary Spain. Particularly impossible to resist is the tortilla Española, which is pretty much perfect in our book.
Behind the unassuming shopfront, hides one of the area's standout restaurants. Open Thursday to Saturday, you must book ahead as they are a single-sitting place, which – in our view – only enhances the experience, putting the food centre stage. The menu changes daily, and while the influences are broad, it definitely has a Scandi-vibe. The food is extraordinary, providing one of the best dining experiences available anywhere in London.
Simply delicious, traditional French cuisine in the heart of Crouch End. It always feels a special occasion to walk through the heavy velvet curtain as you enter this superb restaurant. The food is consistently excellent, and oh such a treat to indulge in their to-die-for chocolate fondant.
A bona fide brunch sensation, BEAM’s Crouch End outpost combines classics like a full English breakfast and French toast with middle eastern and Mediterranean spreads. There’s a lunch menu, too, and plenty of smoothie and coffee options on offer. Queue up early to beat the rush.
An absolute stonker of a bar and restaurant, serving classic cocktails, and cocktails with a twist, alongside tapas-style dishes designed for sharing, yet so tasty you won’t want to!
