What we love most about living here is how quiet and green the area is. We love the view from the balcony over the trees and lakes of Walthamstow Wetlands towards the city skyline and often sit on our balcony on sunny mornings watching the boats go by. We have a local residents nature group who take care of the upkeep of local nature spots.

Even though it’s only one stop from Liverpool Street, it sometimes feels like we’re on the edge of London. It’s a real joy to be surrounded by trees, open space and water. And transport couldn't be easier with fast connections into The City and West End, plus the Stanstead Express just a stone's throw away.

The area is changing fast, and interesting new places are popping up all the time like Craving Coffee, the Beavertown Brewery and the new climbing centre.

1 Craving

Tucked along Markfield Rd, this industrial space with wooden tables and stools not only makes a mean espresso, they also serve an eclectic Asian fusion menu, cocktails and a super selection of beers. Pop in for a takeout morning brew before a sunny stroll along the Lea River canal walk. Sounds like a perfect Sunday morning to us.

2 Craving Coffee

Matt and Rachel Ho founded Craving Coffee as a mobile cart in 2014. It has since grown into a full-fledged café in Gaunson House Studios and serves up what most locals insist is the best coffee in London. It also hosts a carousel of pop-up restaurants specialising in street food from around the globe.

3 Markfield Park

Being recognized as one of the best parks in the country, the award winning Markfield Park is a gorgeously leafy riverside green space nestled beside the towpath of the River Lea. Peppered with houseboats along the Lea and a plethora of wildlife, the park is also home to the historic Beam Engine Museum and the family friendly Markfield Park Cafe serving healthy snacks and homemade cakes.
